Sector 2 ‘B’ School Triumphs in Kaya I Basic Education District Football Finale

Sandbondtenga: Sector 2 'B' school emerged victorious against Center 'A' school in a thrilling football match, winning 3-2 on penalties, at the grand finale of the Primary School Sports and Culture Organization (OSCEP) for the Kaya I Basic Education District (CEB). The match, held at the Moussa Kargougou Provincial High School, concluded in a goalless draw during regulation time before heading to penalties.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event celebrated the resilience of Burkinabe schools amidst challenging security conditions, emphasizing the role of sports and culture in fostering discipline, solidarity, and patriotism among students. The theme, "The Place of the Schoolchild in the Progressive and Popular Revolution", served as a call to action for civic responsibility among the youth.

Sector 2 'B' school, the triumphant team, was awarded a trophy, jerseys, a ball, medals, and 50,000 CFA francs. Center 'A' school, the runners-up, received jerseys, a ball, and 35,000 CFA francs. Teams finishing in third and fourth positions were also recognized with prizes, while individual accolades were presented to standout players, and the top four coaches received certificates of appreciation.

The event, marked by student cultural performances, concluded with widespread satisfaction among attendees. It was chaired by the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Kaya and sponsored by Amadou Sampo, coach of the Union Sportive des Forces Armees (USFA). The ceremony saw the participation of educational authorities, Defense and Security Forces (FDS), economic operators, and local residents.
