BOULSA: A collaborative effort led by the School Movement for a Bright Future (MOSAR) in Namentenga resulted in the collection of 83 bags of blood in Boulsa, with the aim of supporting life-saving medical needs. The initiative, held on October 25, 2024, at the provincial high school of Boulsa, involved partnerships with several local and international organizations.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the blood donation drive was organized in collaboration with the provincial directorate of secondary education, vocational and technical training, the health district of Boulsa, and the International Alliance for Medical Action (ALIMA). The operation was lauded by Idrissa Séré from the laboratory of the Medical Center with a surgical antenna (CMA) of Boulsa, who highlighted the participation of students from various local schools.
Julien Mandé, president of MOSAR in Namentenga, emphasized the importance of the initiative in meeting the CMA’s ongoing demand for blood. He expressed gratitude towards the edu
cational institutions and health partners involved, and called for continued support from development partners to fulfill MOSAR’s goals.
Mandé noted the critical role of ALIMA in the operation’s success, acknowledging that students are the primary contributors to the blood supply. He encouraged ongoing student participation to address the CMA’s frequent blood shortages, underscoring the initiative’s potential to save lives.
