Saudi Arabia Donates Meat to Aid Burkina Faso’s Displaced Populations

Ouagadougou — Burkina Faso has prioritized internally displaced persons (IDPs) and populations in high-security risk areas for the distribution of 3,000 sacrificial sheep carcasses donated by Saudi Arabia. This initiative, announced by the Ministry of Humanitarian Action on Tuesday, aims to alleviate food scarcity among vulnerable groups.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Secretary General of the Ministry in charge of Humanitarian Action, the meat distribution focuses on areas facing severe security challenges and high numbers of displaced individuals. The ambassador of the Saudi Kingdom to Burkina Faso, Fahad Aldosari, emphasized that the 32 tons of sheep meat are part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to support Burkina Faso during its ongoing food crisis. This donation aligns with a broader Saudi Arabian project facilitated through the Islamic Development Bank to provide sacrificial meat to countries in need.
