Ouagadougou: The fifth edition of the Regional Crafts Fair (SARA) had a highlight on Monday with the spotlight on the Bankui region, which presented its artisanal, culinary, and entrepreneurial riches, in the presence of the Director General of SIAO, ‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬¦¡¬°ric Bassol©, and the administrative authorities of the region.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Director General of SIAO, ‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬¦¡¬°ric Bassol©, praised the cultural and economic potential of the Bankui region, which is invited to host the next edition of SARA. He emphasized the significance of these resources, calling on the population to promote them for regional and national influence.
Traor© Bagnoa Jean Robert, president of the economic and financial affairs committee of the special delegation, represented Governor Babo Pierre Bassinga. He expressed pride in receiving the torch for the next edition of the Salon and highlighted the unity and creativity of the diverse communities within the Bankui region.
The day's program included various cultural activities such as the performance of the national anthem in the local language, presentations of flagship products, a film on traditional dyeing, musical entertainment, and showcases of emblematic stands. Visitors had the opportunity to explore and taste a variety of iconic products, including shea butter, local agri-food dishes, dolo, and traditional dishes like t´ bwaba.
Craftsmanship was a focal point, with highlights on Faso Danfani, the Dafin loincloth, and Batoriba fabric, which carries cultural significance in the local language. The "Region in Action" segment displayed initiatives that create jobs and add value, underscoring the strong entrepreneurial spirit in the region. Regional leaders pointed out investment opportunities in sectors such as agri-food, processing of non-timber forest products, and textiles.
Representatives from the Bankui region reiterated their commitment to organizing an innovative and inclusive edition of SARA. The ensuing events continued to celebrate the cultural and economic identity of a region dedicated to promoting Burkinabe crafts.
