Sapouy: The Provincial Directorate of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism of Ziro held a public conference on Tuesday for students of the Sapouy municipal high school with a view to equipping them on the promotion of cultural heritage and the promotion of domestic tourism.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the objective of this communication, as stated by Abdoulaye Kagambega, Provincial Director of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism of Ziro, is to raise awareness among young people about the richness of Burkinabe cultural and tourist heritage and the need to make it a driving force for local development. He urged schoolchildren to take an interest in tourist sites in their province and the country, and to become ambassadors of national culture.
Mr. Kagamb¨ga gave an informative presentation to students on the occasion of Burkinabe Heritage Month, focusing on the theme: “Cultural Heritage and Domestic Tourism: Levers for Development and Identity.” “Burkina Faso is full of cultural treasures. It is time for our young people to discover and promote them,” he said. The provincial director also highlighted the crucial role of the school in promoting national languages and traditions.
The initiative generated genuine enthusiasm among the participants. “It was from this conference that I understood that our country, and especially the Ziro province, is full of enormous tourism potential that we must seek to discover,” confided Kabor© W. Lidivine, a student in Terminale D.
This conference is part of the preparatory activities for the National Day dedicated to customs and traditions, celebrated every May 15. In Sapouy, this mobilization around heritage reflects the growing desire to anchor culture in the consciousness of young people.
