Sanmatenga: The constituted bodies of the North-Central region sacrificed on May 6, 2025, to the traditional raising of the national colors. A moment of information sharing during which the administrative authority of the region galvanized the Defense and Security Forces as well as the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) for their commitment in the theater of operations.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the 7th Company of the National Fire Brigade hosted the traditional monthly flag-raising ceremony on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. Under the presidency of the Governor of the Centre-Nord region, Colonel-Major Blaise Ou©draogo, the national colors were raised high in the company sky to the sound of the victory anthem sung in chorus.
Expressing a thought for all the defense and security forces, the volunteers for the defense of the homeland and the citizens who fell under the murderous bullets of the terrorists, Colonel-Major Z. Blaise Ou©draogo urged the FDS leaders to convey to the fighters all the admiration of the population and above all their unwavering encouragement.
The governor also welcomed the public’s enthusiasm for the national colours, indicating that this is a sign that patriotic spirit and commitment to the nation are becoming a reality in Burkina.
Announcing the holding of a public conference on May 10 in Kaya as a prelude to the commemoration of May 15, 2025, the governor invites all socio-professional layers of his jurisdiction to a strong mobilization in order to better understand the meaning of the day of traditions and customs established on May 15 of each year. This conference is jointly organized by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Mobility and the Ministry of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism.
