Sanmatenga: The regional special delegation of the Center-North handed over food supplies estimated at 5 million CFA francs to people in difficult situations in the region on Thursday, during the traditional raising of the national colors scheduled every Thursday of the month.

According to Burkina Information Agency, two tons of rice, four tons of corn, and 800 liters of oil, worth more than 5 million CFA francs, were handed over to the Central-North Regional Directorate for Humanitarian Action to benefit vulnerable people in the region. The initiative aims to support internally displaced persons and other people facing hardships in the area.

Colonel-Major Z. Blaise Ou©draogo, chairman of the regional special delegation, emphasized the intention of the donation to bring relief to those in need. In a statement, Mose Bado, the regional director of humanitarian action, described the aid as timely, noting that humanitarian assistance had nearly come to a halt. He expressed his appreciation for the support, highlighting the positive impact on several households.

Noufoun Ouatara, secretary general of the Centre-North Regional Council, stated that the supplies were acquired from the 2024 management budget. The flag-raising ceremony, where the donation was made, was attended by administrative staff, members of the regional special delegation, and agents from other decentralized services.
