The association of young leaders the Unique Voices of Sanmatenga demonstrated, on September 29, 2023 at the Place du 11-Décembre in Kaya, for a revision of the Constitution taking into account positive cultural values from the land of honest men.

‘Yes to institutional reforms’, this is the only message conveyed by the demonstrators and artists who took one place at the meeting platform.

Organized by the association of young leaders the Unique Voice of Sanmatenga, this event was an opportunity for traditional chiefs, women, religious leaders, young people from Sanmatenga and Bam to demonstrate, once again, their commitment to supporting the Transition and the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré.

Eighteen stands and a podium decorated with three banners bearing the effigies of the Head of State, the Prime Minister, the President of the Legislative Assembly of the Transition were erected for the benefit of the thousands of demonstrators, mainly women and children.

Russian and Burkinabè flags in hand, m
ost of the speakers urged the highest authorities to revise the Constitution by taking into account the cultural values ??specific to Burkinabè such as respect for the rights of the eldest, taking into account the habits and customs of all ethnic groups in Burkina Faso and the involvement of traditional leaders in political and judicial decision-making.

The wise men also invited the youth to a sacred union, to understanding and solidarity with the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP). As for women, through the voice of their representative, Alimata Bamogo, sounded the same trumpet.

‘We say no to the nudity of girls, to homosexuality and to the summoning of parents by their biological children to justice,’ said Ms. Bamogo. For her, the departure from France to the land of honest men is a breath of hope for the widows and orphans of terrorism.

The musical artists from Sanmatenga and Zorgho improvised refrains summed up as slogans: ‘Shame on ECOWAS’, ‘Ab
as la France’, ‘It’s over, France has lost Africa’, etc.

The representative of religious leaders, Idrissa Pafarnam lavished blessings (dua) for the return of peace to Faso. For the president of the young leaders the Unique Voice of Sanmatenga, Yacouba Ouédraogo, this demonstration aims to say “no” to the Constitution imposed by the West.

‘We want a Constitution that reflects the socio-cultural realities of Burkinabè,’ he said. Mr. Ouédraogo also warned anyone who tries to slow down the progress of the Transition towards political and economic sovereignty for Burkina.
