‘Sank Money’ Expands Reach with New Regional Agency in Pouytenga

POUYTENGA — ‘Sank Money,’ a Burkinabè financial services provider, has expanded its presence with the opening of a new regional agency in Pouytenga, Kouritenga province, as part of its ongoing efforts to increase accessibility to its services.

According to Burkina Information Agency, General Director of Sank Money, the new agency, inaugurated on Saturday, is part of the company’s strategy to enhance service delivery in what is considered the economic hub of the region. The inauguration was attended by the Minister of State, Minister of Public Service, Labor and Social Protection, Bassolma Bazié. Zougmoré outlined that the agency would offer a range of services including money transfers, merchant payments, fuel payments, and communication credits.

Looking ahead, Zougmoré revealed plans to introduce additional services through ‘Sank Money,’ including payments for SONABEL and ONEA bills, Canal Plus subscriptions, and various state taxes. Minister Bazié praised ‘Sank Money’ as a testament to the local talent in Burkina Faso, noting that the platform was wholly developed by Burkinabè professionals and has significantly reduced costs for users handling financial transactions.

‘Sank Money’ operates over 500 agencies across Burkina Faso, serving three distinct customer types: individual account holders on its app, distributors registered with the Trade and Securities Register (RCCM), and wholesalers handling large transactions. The new Pouytenga agency will serve not only the Center-East region but also nearby towns in the Plateau-Central region and municipalities in Namentenga province.
