Sanguie: The province of Sanguie held its fourth ordinary session of the provincial consultation framework (CCP) on Friday, dedicated to development and social cohesion. The main objective of this meeting was to take stock of ongoing actions, particularly those aimed at consolidating peace and strengthening social cohesion for the benefit of the population.
According to Burkina Information Agency, in her opening address, the High Commissioner of the province, Talari Germaine Ouoba, commended the commitment of local stakeholders. She reaffirmed the essential role of the CCP as "a privileged space for exchange and coordination of development actions" and encouraged active and constructive participation from all. Ms. Ouoba also expressed her deep gratitude to the Terre et Paix consortium for the financial and technical support it provides in the implementation of provincial projects.
According to Victor Kone, the consortium's social cohesion officer, who presented the mid-term report, this project, initiated in September 2024 for a period of 40 months, targeted the municipalities of Kyon, Tenado and Pouni. According to him, the project's efforts are focused on strengthening local mechanisms for preventing and managing community conflicts, improving access to justice and, more broadly, consolidating social cohesion. According to him, the tangible results are significant. These include the creation of six departmental observatories dedicated to conflict prevention and management; the establishment of the Sanguie Provincial Observatory; and the support provided to 3,600 citizens to obtain their National Identity Card (CNIB) at a reduced cost, among other things.
The session also addressed the regulation of sporting and recreational events. Indeed, the provincial director in charge of sports, Jean-Pierre Ouedraogo, presented the specifications applicable to private events. He emphasized the need to adhere to rigorous administrative procedures to guarantee the safety and compliance of the organizations.
In closing the session, the Secretary General of the province, Antoinette Ouedraogo, reiterated her thanks to the NGO Terre et Paix, while calling on the participants to become effective information relays to the populations to facilitate the application of the new regulatory measures and to ensure the success of future initiatives.
