Sangui©: Returning from a mission to D©dougou, the Minister of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training (MESFPT), Professor Moumouni Zoungrana, stopped over last Monday in R©o to encourage young people to self-employ.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the objective of this stopover was to get a firsthand look at the realities of two vocational training centers that make the fight against youth unemployment a local priority.
The first stop on this visit took the ministerial delegation to the Center for Education and Socio-Professional Reintegration (CERSP). Run by the Club for Solidarity and Development in Burkina Faso, this center has established itself as a leading institution in the Sangui© province since 2020. The center offers practical training in three key areas: tailoring, livestock farming, and market gardening. A unique feature of this center is its integration of literacy programs in the local language, Ly©l©, to enable unschooled learners to better grasp the technical modules. To date, nearly 100 young people have already been integrated into working life after some of them obtained the Professional Qualification Certificate (CQP). The centre's promoter, Albert Bationo, took advantage of this government presence to advocate for the expansion of his structure, particularly through the creation of a boarding school to optimize learning conditions.
Minister Zoungrana then visited the "Yi-Jan" vocational training center, an initiative of the "Yi-bula" women's association. There, he witnessed the determination of these women working to acquire practical technical skills. "I commend the commitment of these local stakeholders. Their contribution is crucial to the momentum of training and economic empowerment in the Sangui© province," the minister stated. This visit is part of the government's commitment to supporting private initiatives that complement the public educational offering in technical and vocational training.
