Sangui©: The first session of the R©o District Health Council (CSD) for the year 2025 was held this Monday, marking a key moment to assess progress and define the next steps in public health in the Sangui© province. The meeting was chaired by the High Commissioner of the Sangui© province, Talari Germaine Ouoba, who thanked the participants for their availability, proof of their commitment to supporting the R©o health district in achieving its objectives.



According to Burkina Information Agency, Ms. Ouoba recalled the crucial role of the district health council as the supreme governing body, enabling exchanges between the various stakeholders and decision-making for the continuous improvement of the population’s health. Reo District Medical Officer, Dr. David Nikiema, highlighted the persistence of malaria, which remains the leading cause of consultation and death in the district, calling for increased investment from all communities to reduce this burden.



This session was also an opportunity to advocate for enhanced training for members of management committees to make them more effective in their role of community participation in the life of health facilities. The High Commissioner of the province urged participants to listen attentively and participate actively, requesting everyone’s commitment to relaying information and raising awareness among the population.



Local stakeholders reaffirmed their determination to work for better health for the inhabitants of Sangui©, despite persistent challenges. The items on the agenda for this first session of the year include, among others, the evaluation of the recommendations of the previous session in 2024, the presentation of the epidemiological situation and performance indicators of the district in the first half of 2025, as well as the state of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and the functionality of the Management Committees (COGES).
