Sangui© Development Stakeholders Gather for 2026 Action Plan Coordination

Sangui©: The first ordinary session of the year 2026 of the Provincial Consultation Framework (CCP) of the province of Sangui© was held this Thursday in the meeting room of the High Commission of R©o, under the chairmanship of the High Commissioner of the province, Talari Germaine Ouoba.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this meeting brought together administrative authorities, state technical services, prefects and presidents of special delegations, as well as technical and financial partners and representatives of civil society operating in the province.

In her opening speech, Ms. Ouoba praised the commitment of development actors and the results achieved during the year 2025. She emphasized that these sessions offer an opportunity to ensure the coherence of projects, share information, and mobilize the resources necessary for local development.

During the session, the regional director of the Burkinabe National Electricity Company (SONABEL) in the Nando region, B©li Mohamed Ouattara, announced the upcoming opening of a SONABEL commercial office in R©o. He highlighted that this initiative will provide residents of Sangui© province easier access to the company's services, eliminating the need to travel to Koudougou for certain administrative procedures, particularly paying electricity bills.

Continuing his explanation, Mr. Ouattara indicated that SONABEL continues to receive numerous requests to extend the electricity network in various localities across the province. These projects will be examined progressively, depending on the company's financial capacity.

The session also reviewed the activities carried out by the Burkina Faso Red Cross in the province. According to the secretary general of the provincial committee, Bapio Bama, several actions were undertaken in the communes of Tenado and R©o.

These interventions focused on supporting vulnerable households through projects such as the biodigester and Acor Habitat, as well as awareness-raising activities on sexual and reproductive health in schools and households.

Mr. Bama specified that the Red Cross is present in all ten communes of the province, even though some committees are still experiencing operational difficulties.

During the proceedings, the various provincial directorates presented their activity programs for the year 2026. The Secretary General of the province, Kabor©/Ou©draogo Antoinette, explained that this approach aims to improve coordination between technical services and avoid overlaps in activities.

At the end of the meeting, the High Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the quality of the discussions and invited the stakeholders to maintain the momentum of consultation to strengthen the effectiveness of development actions in the province of Sangui©.
