Sandbondtenga/OSCEP 2026: Barsalogho II’s CCEB Calls on Students to Uphold Dignity, Solidarity, and Fair Play

Sandbondtenga: The head of the basic education district (CCEB) of Barsalogho II, Abdoulaye Sawadogo, urged students to embrace dignity, solidarity, and fair play during the inauguration of the 2026 edition of the Organization of Sport and Culture in Primary School (OSCEP). The event, themed "OSCEP for a More Resilient School," was inaugurated with great enthusiasm. According to Burkina Information Agency, Abdoulaye Sawadogo highlighted the importance of fair play in his address, emphasizing that the cultural and sporting competitions, which are set to continue until May, should reflect the patriotic commitment and civic participation promoted by Captain Ibrahim Traore, President of Faso. Sawadogo underscored the values of dignity and solidarity as essential components of these activities. Despite the challenging circumstances, the CCEB stressed the necessity of maintaining sporting and cultural activities. Sawadogo praised the resilience demonstrated by the schools, attributing this strength not only to the educational actors but also to the defense and security forces (FDS) and the volunteers for the defense of the homeland (VDP) who diligently ensure the security of the commune. He remarked, "This resilience is also to the credit of the FDS and the VDP, who are watching the commune like oil on a fire." The launch event featured a football match as a highlight, where the Medersa school exhibited sportsmanship by recognizing the skill of its opponent, the school from site A, in a 2-0 defeat. This match marked the beginning of a series of approximately ten games planned for the event. Simultaneously, students are set to showcase their talents in various cultural activities, including sketches, recitals, lip-syncing, and dances, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the locality.
