Sandbondtenga Calls for Greater Engagement with Faso Mªbo Agency in Kaya

Kaya: The provincial coordination of Sandbondtenga of the Regional Organization for Consultation and Socioeconomic Development of Kouls© (ORCDS-K) called for the mobilization of communities this Saturday in Kaya, in order to strengthen efforts around the Faso Mªbo Agency, during a meeting with community leaders and resource persons of the province.

According to Burkina Information Agency, S. Isma«l Sawadogo, provincial coordinator of the Sandbondtenga of the ORCDS-K, explained that the meeting aimed to raise awareness of the realities of the presidential initiative projects in Kaya and to identify endogenous solutions to generate greater enthusiasm around Faso Mªbo. Moussa Sawadogo, the representative of the Sandbondtenga province in the People's Legislative Assembly (ALP), emphasized the insufficient participation despite the involvement of goodwill.

The coordinator of Faso Mªbo in Kaya, Warrant Officer Soumaila Guiwa, provided a concerning assessment of the progress of the work, eight months after its launch. He reiterated that his team's mission is to coordinate the city beautification work carried out by the residents themselves, in collaboration with local authorities. Adjutant Guiwa assured that the work continues despite the limited involvement of the local population, who are spending "more time taking pictures than working" on the sites. He also warned "ill-intentioned people" whose behavior tends to discourage goodwill, before inviting the population to pull themselves together for the common good.

Recognizing the opportunity offered by the Progressive and Popular Revolution for the development of cities, the participants pledged to become actively involved in improving the situation, particularly through increased community mobilization. A spontaneous contribution was organized on the spot for the benefit of the Agency. Discussions continued at the various work sites, where participants observed the progress and lent a hand with the work on site. According to the organizers, further mobilizations are planned in the coming days and a schedule of visits by municipality and by structure will be developed to accelerate the execution of the work.
