Ouagadougou: The Nabonswend Women's Association organized a school excellence day in Barsalogho on Friday, where the top-performing students were awarded bicycles, and other education stakeholders received certificates of appreciation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the association's president, Somb Pascaline Ou©draogo, stated that the initiative aims to "support the students and supervisors" of the commune, which is her place of origin. She emphasized the importance of rewarding and encouraging academic excellence while promoting peace, pride, and resilience in Barsalogho. Ou©draogo expressed her satisfaction with the academic results achieved.

Twelve top students from each of the two Basic Education Districts (CEB) received cash and in-kind prizes, with bicycles awarded to the top boy and girl. Special prizes were also given, including one for students with disabilities. Additionally, teachers in charge of CM2, school directors, supervisors, and several notable personalities, such as the Naba Guiguemdo of Barsalogho, received certificates of recognition and awards for their contributions to the successful school year.

Jean Marie Ou©draogo, the head of the CEB of Barsalogho, expressed gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries, commending the association's "galvanizing gesture." In support, the prefect and president of the special municipal delegation of Barsalogho, Sansa Mathias Pal©, called upon the community to further support initiatives promoting academic excellence.

Barkibila Sawadogo, the provincial director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education for Sandbondtenga, attended the ceremony and described the initiative as "patriotic."
