Sanaba Women Show Gratitude to Local Defense Forces with Gifts

Banwa — In a heartfelt display of appreciation, the women of Sanaba, a rural commune in the province of Banwa, presented two roosters and a monetary gift to the military detachment and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP) stationed there. The event took place on the morning of Sunday, August 4, as the women, along with community leaders, visited the troops to offer encouragement and blessings.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the spokesperson for the women, the gesture was meant to boost morale and express gratitude to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the VDP for their role in liberating Sanaba, allowing residents to safely return to their daily activities. "Since we have returned, thanks to you, we can cultivate our fields and we can move around as we want. We have nothing to offer you but we have our hearts to bless you night and day," Traoré stated.

The women emphasized that their gift, while modest, was a deep token of their appreciation. "It's small what we sent but you should know that if a woman gives you a franc to bless you, it's from the bottom of her heart and what you do, you will succeed," she added, underlining the symbolic value of their contribution.

Sanaba has been recently reconquered and resettled by the fighting forces, marking a significant turn in the security and stability of the area.
