Koulpelogo: The Saint Jean Bosco Catholic private school won the 2026 edition of the Organization of Sport and Culture in Primary School (OSCEP) football final on Saturday in Ouargaye, defeating Ouargaye B school 3-1, at the end of a ceremony marked by the promotion of sport, culture and educational resilience.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Saint Jean Bosco Catholic private school won the football final in Ouargaye. The Ouargaye Basic Education District (CEB) closed the activities of the Organization of Sport and Culture in Primary School (OSCEP) on Saturday, May 9, 2026, on the grounds of the Centre "A" school, in the presence of administrative, educational, customary, and religious authorities, as well as many students and parents.
Presiding over the closing ceremony, the president of the Ouargaye special delegation, Mahamadou Soulama, commended the strong mobilization of all stakeholders in the education system. He also paid tribute to the Defense and Security Forces and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland, whose efforts contribute to the continuation of educational and socio-cultural activities in the municipality.
According to him, sport and culture are essential drivers of peace, social cohesion, and children's development. He encouraged teachers, parents, and partners to continue their support for quality education, while expressing the municipality's gratitude to the donors and resource persons who supported this event.
For his part, the head of the basic education district, Armand Noukoubri, recalled that the competitions, launched since February 7, 2026, have allowed students to compete in several sporting and cultural disciplines, while cultivating values ??of discipline, tolerance, patriotism and living together.
He stressed that this year's theme, "Sport and Culture in primary school, factors of educational resilience in the commune of Ouargaye", reflects the desire of educational stakeholders to ensure the continuity of education despite the security context.
The education official congratulated the teachers, pedagogical supervisors, school principals, parents, and members of the organizing committee for their unwavering commitment. He also expressed his gratitude to the municipal, traditional, and religious authorities, as well as to the partners and the sponsor, Doumim-Naaba, the technical secretary for education in emergencies, for their multifaceted support.
