Dori: A sale of 100 tons of rice and 60 tons of corn at social prices was held in Dori from Thursday, March 27 to Friday, March 28, 2025. The sale was carried out from trucks, spread across four sites in the city: SONAGES, Wendou road; SONAGES, Seytenga road; Espace Vert, sector 5; and the Maison de la Femme.
According to Burkina Information Agency, rice (30 kg) and corn (50 kg) were sold at the social price of 10,000 FCFA per bag. In a press release from the Dori town hall, it was specified that each person could only purchase one bag, contingent upon the presentation of their Burkinabe national identity card and the required amount. Despite a large crowd, the operation was conducted calmly and with order.
The initiative was well-received by beneficiaries, providing much-needed relief at a time when a 100 kg bag of corn costs 32,000 FCFA and a 50 kg bag is priced at 27,500 FCFA in the market.
