BAMAKO — In a joint expression of solidarity, Malian President Colonel Assimi Goïta, along with his counterparts from Burkina Faso and Niger, extended condolences and support to the victims of recent devastating floods affecting the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).
According to Burkina Information Agency, President Goïta voiced profound sympathy on behalf of himself and his colleagues, Captain Ibrahim Traoré of Burkina Faso and Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tiani of Niger. The floods have resulted in significant loss of life, injuries, and extensive material damage across the AES region.
President Goïta’s message underscored the collective grief and mobilization of resources to aid those affected by the floods. He articulated wishes for a swift recovery for the injured and prayers for the deceased. The statement also highlighted the collaborative efforts of the governments of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger in responding to the crisis and supporting the disaster-stricken communities.
