Dori: The head of the collective of economic actors of the Sahel, Mr. Hamidou Dicko, presented to the governor of the Sahel region, Mr. Abdoul Karim Zongo, a statement of payment to the regional treasury, of the sum of 5,677,601 CFA francs, representing the contribution to the patriotic support fund.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the mobilization of this sum is the response of the Sahelian economic world to the appeal of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©. Mr. Hamidou Dicko emphasized that this gesture is a tangible symbol of their determination and patriotism, aiming to provide concrete support for peace efforts and to accompany the Burkinabe nation during this challenging period.
Mr. Dicko expressed his belief that through collective commitment and solidarity, the Burkinabe people will overcome the ordeal of insecurity. He stated that the mobilization will continue through contributions from Sahelians in the diaspora and the organization of cultural activities.
Ms. Aminata Maiga, a restaurateur in Dori, indicated that the government can still rely on stakeholders in the Sahel region. She expressed hope for the reopening of National Road No. 3 (Kaya-Dori), which is currently closed and hindering business development, thus affecting the regional economy.
Sahel Region Governor Abdoul Karim Zongo thanked the region’s economic stakeholders for their financial contribution to the Patriotic Support Fund. He emphasized that this contribution shows their understanding of the need for every Burkinabe citizen to participate in resolving the security crisis facing Burkina Faso.
Governor Zongo urged the stakeholders to remain mobilized and to contribute in other areas, including collaboration between the defense and security forces, volunteers for the defense of the homeland, and the civilian population.
