Sagrada Esperança Triumphs Over Djoliba in Champions League Clash

Luanda: Angola’s Sagrada Esperança secured a 1-0 victory over the Malian team Djoliba of Bamako on Sunday in the fourth round of group D of the Champions League at the 11 de Novembro Stadium. The match saw Mussa netting the decisive goal for Sagrada Esperança.

According to Angola Press News Agency, this victory marked Sagrada Esperança’s first win in the competition, keeping their hopes alive for reaching the quarter-finals, contingent on success in their upcoming matches. Elsewhere in group D, Egypt’s Pyramids secured a 2-1 win over Tunisia’s Esperance, resulting in both teams having equal points.

Sagrada Esperança’s next challenge will be against the Pyramids of Egypt on the 11th of the month at the 11 November stadium, concluding the group stage. Following this, the Angolan team is set to face Espérance Sportive de Tunis on January 18th in Tunis, Tunisia.

The current group D standings are as follows: Espérance de Tunis leads with 7 points, followed by Pyramids also with 7 points. Sagrada Esperança is in
third place with 5 points, and Djoliba sits at the bottom with 2 points.
