Rwanda Receives $268 Million from IMF for Climate Shock Response

Rwanda – The Rwandan Ministry of Finance has announced the acquisition of US$268 million in financing from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). This funding is aimed at addressing climate shocks in the nation.

According to Africa News Agency, the funding obtained under the new Standby Credit Facility will be utilized not only for responding to climate shocks but also for bolstering the country’s balance of payments. An IMF statement commended Rwanda’s efforts towards building a resilient and greener economy, emphasizing the importance of maintaining this commitment.
