Russian Forces Resume Combat Operations in Kursk Region Following Easter Ceasefire

Kursk: Russian troops in the Kursk Region observed an Easter ceasefire until midnight on April 21 and resumed military operations against Ukrainian forces thereafter, as reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on Monday.



According to Namibia Press Agency, Russian forces adhered to a ceasefire declared by Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 19, which lasted until 18:00 Moscow time (15:00 GMT). During this period, Russian troops maintained a ceasefire in the region, refraining from engaging in combat activities.



After the ceasefire concluded at 00:00 on April 21 (21:00 GMT, April 20), units from Russia’s Sever (North) group of troops resumed their operations, targeting Ukrainian forces in the region. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Ukrainian forces suffered significant losses, including up to 50 service personnel, an infantry fighting vehicle, two armored personnel carriers, an armored combat vehicle, two vehicles, and three artillery pieces.
