Russia Claims Evidence of CIA Involvement in Ukraine Conflict

MOSCOW — Sergei Naryshkin, director of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), has publicly declared that Russia possesses “reliable information” concerning the CIA’s involvement in various stages of the Ukraine conflict. This announcement was made during an interview with Rossiya 24 television channel.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the information reveals active participation by the CIA in the 2014 Maidan movement, which he described as an “armed coup” in Kyiv, and in ongoing activities within the territory of what was once the Ukrainian Soviet Republic. He stated that these actions are part of a broader American strategy aimed at undermining Russia’s development and inflicting damage upon it.

This statement aligns with previous narratives from Russian officials who frequently attribute external influences to political unrest in neighboring countries. The claims by the SVR head intensify the ongoing geopolitical tensions between Russia and the United States, especially regarding their respective roles and interests in Ukraine.
