RTB-Sud-Ouest Employees and Community Members Unite for Workplace Clean-Up

GAOUA: In a display of civic duty and community spirit, the regional management of Radio-Television of Burkina (RTB) / South-West organized a comprehensive cleaning operation at its headquarters. The initiative, held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, was part of the National Days of Patriotic Commitments and Citizen Participation, drawing participation from RTB staff, local associations, and community members. According to Burkina Information Agency, the event saw journalists, presenters, technicians, and administrative staff of RTB Sud-Ouest, led by their regional director, Hamidou Kibsi Nana, collaborating with listeners and viewers to clean and clear the premises. Armed with tools such as machetes, rakes, and pickaxes, participants engaged in what was termed the 'clean RTB' operation, reflecting the national initiative aimed at promoting citizen action within public services. Hamidou Kibsi Nana, the regional director, emphasized that the activity was a response to a call from higher authorities to engage in the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation. "We wanted, through this action, to set an example by taking care of our working environment," he stated, underscoring the significance of the initiative. The operation attracted a diverse group of participants, including local associations, internally displaced persons, members of the provincial coordination of citizen monitoring, Dozo hunters, and individual citizens. Belem Zenabo, representing internally displaced women, highlighted the collective resolve: "As internally displaced people, we have chosen to actively participate in cleaning the RTB courtyard. We are all Burkinabè, and it is in solidarity and unity that we can make things move forward." The commune of Gaoua supported the effort by providing tricycles to transport collected waste. "It was a blessing to see such a massive mobilization around this activity. The support of the town hall, with tricycles for garbage collection, was invaluable," noted Hamidou Kibsi Nana, expressi ng gratitude for the logistical aid. The regional director also acknowledged the contributions of regional authorities and RTB leaders to the operation's success. "Thanks to their support, we have been able to create a more pleasant and healthy working environment for all staff," he affirmed. Concluding the day's activities, Kibsi Nana extended his appreciation to all participants and the local community for their dedication. "May Almighty God bless them and may each participant receive in return the benefits of this commitment in their respective families," he expressed, highlighting the communal spirit that characterized the event.
