Roundabout Inaugurated in Ridimbo to Honor President Ibrahim Traor©

Ouagadougou: The village of Ridimbo in the rural commune of Tougo vibrated this Sunday, April 27, 2025 to the rhythm of two major events, namely the inauguration of a roundabout and the final of the Zems-taaba football tournament. The final of the tournament, initiated by the youth of the village, saw the Ridimbo team triumph over the Setgo team with a score of 3 goals to 0. The event was marked by the inauguration of a roundabout dedicated to the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Zems-taaba tournament was launched on February 23, 2025, featuring four teams: Ridimbo, Setgo, Pouima, and Guirou. Ridimbo emerged victorious, clinching the final with a commanding 3-0 win over Setgo. The triumph was celebrated with the awarding of a trophy, a ball, a set of jerseys, and a prize of 60,000 francs to the Ridimbo team.

Saidou Ou©draogo, President of the organizing committee, stated that the tournament was aimed at promoting social cohesion and mobilizing youth for the development of the locality. The Prefect, Souley Boureima, praised the event's success, emphasizing the importance of unity and mobilization to support government efforts in national development.

The event also saw the presence of Alouna Traor©, a mission officer at the Presidency of Faso, and Sanata Ou©draogo from the North region. Alouna Traor© highlighted the significance of the newly inaugurated roundabout as a symbol of commitment and support for President Ibrahim Traor©'s liberation struggle, urging young people to actively participate in this cause.

Leaders from the Zondoma Provincial Citizen Watch Coordination and traditional leaders from the commune joined the celebrations. El Adj Abdou Sawadogo, speaking for the sponsors, commended the community's involvement, noting the roundabout as a collective achievement of the village. Ousmane Ou©draogo from the provincial coordination announced plans for future roundabout constructions in all villages to enhance citizen monitoring.
