Rockets Launched at Tel Aviv from Gaza on War Anniversary, Two Injured

TEL AVIV—Hamas forces in Gaza launched a barrage of rockets toward Tel Aviv on Monday, coinciding with the first anniversary of a significant assault on southern Israeli communities. This incident, part of the ongoing conflict, resulted in two light injuries and caused some material damage in the region.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Israeli military confirmed that five rockets were initiated from Khan Younis in southern Gaza. The assault triggered sirens across central Israel, with two individuals sustaining minor injuries in Kfar Chabad, a town southeast of Tel Aviv. Eli Bin, director-general of Israel's Magen David Adom rescue service, provided details to the press while social media circulated images and videos showing damage to residential properties and vehicles. Additionally, a cloud of black smoke was reported rising near Holon, a suburb south of Tel Aviv.

The Izz el-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, claimed responsibility for the attack. They stated the rockets fired were Maqadma M90s, aimed at Tel Aviv as part of "the ongoing battle of attrition and in response to Zionist massacres against civilians and the deliberate displacement of our people."
