Robertson police confiscate drugs during vehicle check point


On 14 September 2023 at 21:50 Robertson SAPS members were on duty and executing Vehicle Check Point (VCP) in Voortrekker Road, Robertson when they signalled the driver of a white VW Polo to stop the motor vehicle during a routine check.



The driver ignored the instructions of the members and did not stop at the VCP. Members then gave chase and the VW was pulled over on the corners of Victoria Street and Barry Street where the members saw the passenger throwing away an object through the window.



Member retrieved the object that was thrown through the window and discovered a black plastic bag containing three plastic bags with 1068 mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R40 680-00.



Both occupants aged 30 were arrested, escorted to Robertson SAPS, The suspects are due to appear in the Robertson Magistrates court once charged.
