Windhoek: The Roads Authority (RA) awarded bursaries to six students from the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) during a handover ceremony held on Thursday at its head office in Windhoek.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Roads Authority Chief Executive Officer, Conrad Lutombi, stated that the bursaries are valued at N.dollars 2.9 million. These funds will support students pursuing degrees in transport management, geo-information technology, procurement and supply chain management, and civil engineering.
The bursaries will fully cover tuition fees, accommodation, textbooks, meals, and also provide pocket money, ensuring that the students are financially supported throughout their studies.
The beneficiaries were joined by their parents, who expressed pride in their children’s academic journeys. Former RA bursary holder, Jade Kisting, encouraged the students to remain focused and dedicated. ‘When I received this bursary, I had an immense feeling of relief and gratitude, as it eased a lot of stress in my family and allowed me to concentrate on my studies. Congratulations to all of you, this is truly an achievement and a reflection of the support you have in your lives,’ she said.
