Quimbele: Eight people died and 27 others were seriously or slightly injured in a car accident that occurred on Saturday night, in the town of Kimalalo, about 20 kilometers from the municipal seat of Quimbele, Angolan northern Uige province. The accident happened when a bus that was making a public transport service, coming from the country’s capital (Luanda) to the municipality of Quimbele, crashed into a ravine, causing the immediate death of six passengers.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the other two people died during the night at the Municipal Hospital of Quimbele, where they were transported for medical assistance. Of the 27 injured, eight are in serious condition and were transferred to the Uige General Hospital.
Due to the constant rains that have fallen in the province of Uige in recent days, the large ravine in the town of Kimalalo has registered a considerable progression, a situation that is making it difficult for vehicles to circulate in that section.
