Ouagadougou: Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo visited the renovation site of the August 4 Stadium on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. This visit allowed the Head of Government to inquire about the progress of the ongoing work. With a new pitch, renovated red-ochre tartan, fully renovated changing rooms and toilets, a weight room, stands and VIP stands, and a fully equipped press room, the renovation work at the Stade du 4-Aot is nearing completion.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the brand-new locker room furniture combines luxury and comfort. In the corridors, the history of Burkinabe football is showcased through portraits of national legends, intended to inspire younger generations. A press box with approximately 80 seats offering an unobstructed view of the pitch has also been installed. The VIP box, surrounded by transparent shields, completes the ensemble.
The progress of the work did not leave the Head of Government indifferent. “What we can say is that we are leaving quite satisfied and reassured. The stadium has changed its appearance, and above all, we see a company and workers who put their heart and soul into their work,” the Head of Government said at the end of the visit.
In front of the Minister in charge of sport, he once again insisted on the need to respect the deadlines in order to return to sports lovers a jewel of the required standards for which significant public resources have been mobilized. “Despite the difficult context, the Head of State has given authorization to allocate resources to approve this stadium and carry out the necessary work. This is a sacrifice that must be respected, because it is the sacrifice of the entire Burkinabe people,” he said.
With a forward-looking vision, the Head of Government is thinking about the future management of the infrastructure, once the work is completed. This is why, he stated, the managers of the public sports infrastructure reference structure called “Burkina Y®n-Wisgr Meta” have been instructed to conduct a forward-looking reflection for a rigorous and sustainable management of this infrastructure, in order to avoid rapid deterioration.
The Prime Minister’s visit to the Stade du 4-Aot construction site is both symbolic and reassuring. Soon, the Stallions will be playing on the new pitch of this completely renovated sports venue, thus putting an end to a long wait for Burkinabe supporters.
