Moscow: Strenuous diplomatic efforts are needed to revive relations between Russia and the United States, so immediate results cannot be expected, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. “Reviving relations practically from scratch is a very difficult endeavor. It requires very intense diplomatic and other efforts,” Peskov said in an interview to Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin out on Sunday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, problems plaguing relations between Moscow and Washington are too complex to expect immediate results from the resumption of bilateral contacts, Peskov added. “We have to realize how serious the damage done to bilateral US-Russian relations under the previous administration [of US President Joe Biden] is. It has had very serious consequences. And now painstaking work is underway to eliminate these consequences,” Peskov said.
