Resilience and Professionalism of Sahel Forces Lauded by Defense Minister

DORI: The Minister of Defense, Brigadier General Kassoum Coulibaly, has praised the resilience and professionalism of combat forces active in the Sahel region, emphasizing the importance of unity and vigilance against misinformation. During a ceremony at the 41st Commando Infantry Regiment in Dori, he extended his commendations to defense and security forces as well as volunteers who work closely with local populations. According to Burkina Information Agency, Brigadier General Kassoum Coulibaly was joined by other high-ranking officials, including the Minister of Health, Dr. Robert Lucien Jean Claude Kargougou, and the Minister Delegate in charge of Animal Resources, Dr. Amadou Dicko. The Director General of the National Police, Inspector General Jean Alexandre Darga, was also in attendance for the flag-raising ceremony, which underscored the collaboration among various defense and security entities. Brigadier General Coulibaly, speaking on behalf of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, President of Faso Captain Ibrahim Traoré, conveyed his congratulations and encouragement to the forces for their daily resilience. He highlighted the cohesion between the defense and security forces and the volunteers, noting their effective collaboration with local populations. The Minister urged the forces to set aside differences and unite under the military hierarchy for the greater good of the Burkinabe nation. He also cautioned against the perils of misinformation, the misuse of mobile technology, and the allure of easy gains, urging the forces to maintain integrity in their operations. In his concluding remarks, Brigadier General Coulibaly extended his wishes for a successful celebration of the 64th anniversary of the national army's creation and encouraged the forces to maintain cleanliness in their work environments. The commander of the 41st Commando Infantry Regiment, Lieutenant-Colonel Bapio Kouayé Narcisse Bassinga, expressed appreciation for the visit, interpreting it as a sign of the leadership's commitme nt to supporting the efforts on the ground.
