Residents of Kamadena Take Steps Toward Inclusive Education

Kamadena: The residents of Kamadena commit to the schooling of all children. The provincial coordinator of the Koosin Integrated Communication Plan (PIC), Blandine Traore, and her team organized an awareness session this Friday, November 21, 2025, at the Kamadena public primary school to encourage the enrollment of girls and children with disabilities. The initiative mobilized local authorities and parents around a common goal: 'zero children at home.'

According to Burkina Information Agency, the courtyard of the Kamadena public primary school vibrated this Friday morning, November 21, 2025, to the rhythm of awareness-raising and advocacy for inclusive education. The delegation from the Integrated Communication Plan (PIC) of Koosin, led by Blandine Traore, received a warm welcome from the village chief, Samuel Konate, who praised this initiative in favor of the children of his community. The school's director, Bruno Sanou, also expressed his gratitude for the choice made on his school.

The provincial coordinator recalled that her team's presence in Kamadena was aimed at promoting the right to education for all children, without distinction. To support the message, the Year 4 students presented a skit highlighting the importance of enrolling every child, girl or boy, as well as those with disabilities, in school.

Following this presentation, the inspector, Ytiomou Traore, spoke with the parents to identify the obstacles to schooling, including social and cultural prejudices. These frank discussions helped to highlight the main obstacles and pave the way for concrete commitments. Blandine Traore and her team encouraged the population to work collectively to achieve the goal set "no child left at home". The parents unanimously pledged to enroll all girls and all children with disabilities in school.
