Reo: The ideals of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP) and civic duty were imparted to students at the General Education College (CEG) in Reo during a solemn ceremony of raising the national colors, as observed by AIB. This event, dedicated to fostering civic responsibility, also served as an awareness session introducing students to the principles of the Progressive and Popular Revolution (PPR).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was attended by several authorities, including Pema Neya, the representative of the Presidency of Faso to Nando, Ms. Talari Germaine Ouoba, the High Commissioner, Esther Bamouni/Bassono, a Member of Parliament for the ALT, and Sindi Zagre, the Prefect of Reo. Pema Neya, in his address, highlighted the RPP's main objectives and underscored the vital role of youth in building a sovereign and engaged nation. He stressed "order and discipline" as crucial elements for students to become responsible citizens.
The Defense and Security Forces (FDS), comprising national and municipal police, also engaged with the students, offering practical guidance on respecting the highway code and addressing the dangers of drug use in schools. Ms. Pelagie Bationo, the principal of CEG de Reo, expressed gratitude to the authorities for selecting her school for this initiative. She commended her staff's consistent efforts in achieving satisfactory results despite prevailing challenges.
Ms. Grace Guingane, the provincial director, used the opportunity to emphasize the importance of awareness in combating narcotics consumption, which poses significant harm. This initiative is part of a broader awareness campaign conducted in collaboration with the provincial directorate of secondary education, vocational, and technical training of Sanguie.
