Huambo: At least 150 exhibitors are participating, starting today, Friday, in the 3rd edition of the Regional Technology Fair (FERTIC-Huambo), to promote knowledge, innovation, creativity, digital inclusion, and modern solutions recommended for public and private institutions. The event, opened by the governor of Huambo province, Pereira Alfredo, runs until Sunday, in the courtyard of the 'Manuel Rui Monteiro' Cultural Center, in the upper part of the city, under the motto 'Digitization of services, the path to administrative modernization'.
According to Angola Press News Agency, exhibitors from the provinces of Benguela, Bi©, Huambo, Hula, Lunda-Sul, Moxico-Leste, and Zaire, who work in the field of new communication and information technologies, will take the opportunity to strengthen partnerships, in addition to enhancing and valuing the technological growth of the country. Governor Pereira Alfredo expressed his admiration for the creativity and technological initiatives of the exhibitors, including students, startup inventors, and institutions in the field.
The governor emphasized that these companies are showcasing a true spectacle of innovation, which needs to be supported by everyone. He noted that FERTICI-Huambo represents a symbiosis of what is currently being done in academia, to be translated into products for sale, in addition to the exchange of experiences between the creators. He also offered to encourage and support local entrepreneurial initiatives for gradual growth in the market.
Adelino Salvador Tchitau, the director of the local Registry and Modernization office, stated that FERTICI-Huambo constitutes an opportunity to deepen and elevate technological innovation and digital transformation in public administration. He urged municipal administrators to maintain focus on the necessary modernization process and the adoption of citizen-oriented digital public services.
Tchitau highlighted that FERTICI-Huambo represents a space that municipal administrations can use to reinforce the importance of institutional interoperability, reduction of bureaucracy, and simplification of administrative acts. The first edition of the fair took place in 2019 at the Huambo Provincial Library, followed by the second in 2022 at the Osvaldo de Jesus Serra Van-Dºnem multipurpose pavilion, both with encouraging indicators, underscoring the potential of the Central/Southern region in these areas.
