Regional Leisure Day Promotes Unity in Eastern Provinces

Fada n'gourma: The Regional Directorate of Sports and Leisure of Goulmou organized a regional day of leisure in Fada N'Gourma, focusing on mixing and resilience. The event gathered competitors from the five provinces of the region for a cross-country race and various board games.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the day commenced with a cross-country race that attracted numerous participants. Following the race, attendees engaged in board games such as petanque, card games, lido, and scrabble, fostering friendly competition among the provincial delegations.

Jean-Baptiste Koumbem, the regional director of Sports and Leisure of Goulmou, stated that the initiative was designed to strengthen the unity among the populations of the five provinces. He emphasized the role of leisure activities in maintaining social cohesion amid a challenging security environment.

Koumbem highlighted the importance of these activities in demonstrating resilience and defying adversity. He expressed confidence in the ongoing efforts to restore peace across the national territory, urging people to live normally and not succumb to fear.

Participant Bindi Yonli praised the initiative, noting the rarity and value of such gatherings for community interaction. He emphasized that these events help alleviate concerns and reinforce communal bonds.
