Reforestation Initiative in Bingo Sets the Tone for 2026 National Campaign

Bingo: The municipality of Bingo officially launched its municipal reforestation campaign on Saturday, June 27. This activity, which is in line with the directives of the highest authorities in the country, aims to increase vegetation cover and strengthen the environmental resilience of Burkina Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the start of this reforestation operation was marked by a strong mobilization of the local community's vital forces. Municipal authorities, constituted bodies, traditional and religious leaders, and the population united around this patriotic ideal: "to re-green Burkina Faso."

For this outing, two sites were chosen for planting the seedlings. The first, located in the village of Sap©lo, hosted the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Bingo municipality, Yacouba Gouem. Following this, a second planting took place at the Bingo nursery school, led by the Secretary General of the town hall, Roger Ou©draogo.

The Bingo PDS and its collaborators seized this opportunity to invite the local population to embrace this reforestation initiative. They particularly urged citizens to plant trees on their properties, at their workplaces, and in public spaces, with a special emphasis on local and medicinal species, which are essential for preserving biodiversity.

This campaign, which aims to be sustainable, marks the commitment of the sons and daughters of Bingo to actively contribute to building a greener and healthier Burkina Faso.
