Windhoek: A delegation from Reconnaissance Energy Africa Ltd (ReconAfrica), along with the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (Namcor) and BW Energy Management, met with President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah at State House, committing to collaborate with the government.
According to Namibia Press Agency, President Nandi-Ndaitwah emphasized the government's commitment to working with the private sector to support economic recovery and tackle pressing national issues, with a focus on challenges facing young people. ReconAfrica's Chief Executive Officer, Brian Reinsborough, stated that the company has successfully completed drilling the Kavango West well, in partnership with BW Energy and Namcor.
Reinsborough reported early indications of a hydrocarbon discovery at the well site, although it remains in the preliminary stages. He expressed satisfaction with the findings so far and mentioned that a production test is scheduled in the coming months to evaluate the oil and gas potential.
He further commented on the efficiency and safety of the well drilling operations conducted by the teams in the Kavango region. Reinsborough highlighted plans for a production test in the first quarter, which will determine potential future actions, possibly including the drilling of another well.
