RASD Holds Rally in Ouahigouya to Support Transition and Applaud Fighting Forces

Ouahigouya: The African Network for Solidarity and Development (RASD) organized a meeting in Ouahigouya on December 16, 2023, to express support for Burkina Faso’s Transition and to commend the fighting forces for their achievements.

According to Burkina Information Agency, The gathering, attended by residents of the Northern region (Yatenga, Loroum, Passoré, and Zondoma), was a demonstration of support for the Transition. Participants, holding placards with messages of encouragement, praised the actions of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP). Daouda Ouédraogo, a representative of internally displaced persons (IDPs), expressed the community’s desire for an end to the prolonged insecurity and the safe return of IDPs to their homes. Ali Sawadogo, the president of RASD, stated that the meeting was a gesture of appreciation for the fighting forces and a show of backing for the government’s actions. He proposed several initiatives, including establishing municipal agricultural areas and promoting technical and vocational education, as well as advocating for the creation of ‘made in Burkina’ pharmaceutical industries. Sawadogo encouraged national participation in these initiatives, emphasizing the role of the country’s citizens in shaping Burkina Faso’s future.
