WINDHOEK: Seventy Namibian students will have the opportunity to further their education with scholarships funded by the Rani Group, which has committed N.dollars 1.4 million for this initiative. The scholarships, available for the 2025 academic year, are targeted at assisting disadvantaged individuals across Namibia’s 14 regions.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Rani Group Managing Director Ali Dharani announced that each region will benefit from five scholarships, with a total allocation of N.dollars 100,000 per region. The scholarships are intended for students pursuing any field of study at local institutions. Dharani emphasized the group’s dedication to education and social responsibility, underscoring their belief in education’s transformative power.
Dharani stated that the selection process will occur at the regional level next year. Students will be required to submit a letter of motivation to request financial aid. Once selected, the funds will be paid directly to their chosen educational institu
tion. The initiative reflects Rani Group’s ongoing commitment to education, following last year’s provision of 70 bursaries and donations of wheelchairs across all regions.
In addition to scholarship initiatives, Rani Group previously distributed 700 wheelchairs valued at N.dollars 2.5 million in 2022, with each region receiving 50 wheelchairs. In 2021, the company donated 350 wheelchairs and provided an additional 30 to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security to support officials injured on duty.
