Ouagadougou: The traditional monthly ceremony for raising the national colors of the Zoundweogo province was held on Tuesday in the courtyard of the high commission, under the chairmanship of the High Commissioner of the province, Julien Ouedraogo and in the presence of the constituted bodies.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this first rotating raising of the colours of the year 2026 was an opportunity for the province's top official to extend his New Year's greetings to the driving forces, while also taking a brief look back at the past year and outlining the prospects for the current year.
Looking back on 2025, Julien Ouedraogo noted that the year was marked by numerous challenges met thanks to the commitment and determination of the various departments. He deemed the overall results satisfactory, while congratulating the various bodies for the remarkable work accomplished in service to the province.
For 2026, the High Commissioner called for renewed commitment, unity, and strengthened collaboration to meet new challenges. He reiterated that administrative action is part of the dynamic march of the People's Progressive Revolution, which demands constant effort and unwavering commitment to defend the ideals championed by the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore.
Addressing the ongoing "D¨m¨ Sira" campaign, scheduled to conclude on January 31, 2026, Mr. Ouedraogo commended the contributions already received and urged stakeholders to continue their mobilization efforts so that the province can make a contribution commensurate with expectations to the regional challenge.
The High Commissioner also indicated that February would be dedicated to exemplary tax compliance. He urged all stakeholders to set an example by regularly fulfilling their tax obligations.
