Qatari Labor Minister Invited to Burkina Faso to Bolster Bilateral Cooperation


OUAGADOUGOU – Qatar’s Minister of Labor, Ali Ben Samikh Al-Marri, has been invited for a friendship and working visit to Burkina Faso. The invitation was extended on the sidelines of the 112th International Labor Organization conference in Geneva to enhance the cooperation between Qatar and Burkina Faso.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting took place during a discussion between Al-Marri and Burkina Faso’s Minister of State, Bassolma Bazié, who is also the Minister of Civil Service, Labor, and Social Protection and leads the Burkina delegation at the ILO conference.



The ministers also explored the potential for a rapid negotiation and finalization of a draft agreement concerning the employment regulation of Burkinabe workers in Qatar. This agreement had been a topic of discussion during their previous meeting at the 4th session of the Islamic Conference of Labor Ministers of OIC member countries in Baku, Azerbaijan, on November 23, 2023. They reaffirmed their shared interest in intensifying cooperative relations, focusing specifically on labor and social protection issues, including Universal Health Insurance.
