Putin Trump Meeting to Take Place, But in Due Time, After Preparation Kremlin

Moscow: A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump will take place, however, at the appropriate time, preparations must be done in advance, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Sunday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Peskov mentioned that both presidents have shown their political willingness for the meeting by publicly expressing their interest. However, he emphasized the necessity of adequate preparation before the meeting occurs.

The interactions between Putin and US special presidential envoy Steven Witkoff were noted as a significant step towards the anticipated meeting between the Russian and US leaders, Peskov added.

On Friday, President Putin engaged in discussions with Witkoff in the Presidential Library in St. Petersburg. The meeting extended for 4.5 hours, focusing on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.

Peskov remarked that the meeting with Witkoff could potentially act as an additional move toward facilitating the face-to-face meeting between Putin and Trump.
