Kremlin: Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent his condolences to the Iranian leadership over the deadly explosion at Shahid Rajaee port in the city of Bandar Abbas, the Kremlin said on Sunday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, on Saturday, a large blast occurred in the port in the southern Iranian city of Bandar Abbas. Following the explosion, the IRNA news agency reported that it was set off by chemicals stored improperly. According to the latest data, 25 people have died in the blast.
“Dear Mr Khamenei, dear Mr Pezeshkian, please accept our deep condolences over casualties and massive destructions caused by an explosion in the Shahid Rajaee port,” the telegram released on the Kremlin website read.
The Russian leader also expressed readiness to provide help to the Iranian authorities in relief efforts.
