Putin Extends Greetings to Great African Expedition, Emphasizes Importance of Aquatic Resource Studies

OUAGADOUGOU — Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a message of greetings to the organizers and participants of the Great African Expedition, highlighting the importance of the project in assessing the reserves of aquatic biological resources within the exclusive economic zones of African countries.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Putin emphasized that the primary goal of this large-scale scientific project is to evaluate the state of aquatic biological resources in African nations. The studies conducted by Russian researchers are expected to enhance the efficiency of fishing practices across the continent, contributing significantly to food security in African countries.

Putin also noted the growing relations between Russia and African nations, a development that was further confirmed by the outcomes of the second Russia-Africa summit held in Saint Petersburg in 2023.
