Putin and Syria’s al Sharaa Discuss Bilateral Ties and Middle East Situation

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Syrian interim leader Ahmed al-Sharaa to discuss bilateral relations and the Middle East situation, the Kremlin announced.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the discussions covered the current state and future prospects of Russian-Syrian relations across political, trade, economic, and humanitarian domains, along with the broader situation in the Middle East.

During the opening remarks, Putin highlighted the "special relationship" between Russia and Syria, emphasizing that their bilateral ties have consistently been "exclusively friendly." The Kremlin also noted al-Sharaa's commitment to revitalizing the full spectrum of their relations, with a focus on achieving stability both in Syria and the wider region.
