Huambo: The secretary of the Social Renewal Party (PRS) in Huambo province, Ant³nio Soliya Selende, highlighted on Tuesday the impact of the rehabilitation of National Road No. 120, Huambo/Alto-Hama section, on reducing accidents and improving road traffic.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the party official was speaking to the press after visiting the road expansion works, where he noted the impact of the intervention on the connection between communities and on the safety of road users. He also praised the Huambo Provincial Government for carrying out the works, which should continue on other sections.
Ant³nio Soliya Selende considered the Pedra Cuca area as a previous critical point, with a record of accidents involving trucks and light vehicles. He mentioned the containment of ravines along the road as a factor of greater safety and stability of the road infrastructure.
On the other hand, the politician pointed to the arrival of electricity to the Chipipa commune as a sign of development and improved living conditions for the population. He advocated for a greater focus on family farming, with the distribution of seeds and fertilizers to peasant families, as a way to combat hunger and poverty.
He said it was necessary to strengthen health services in the communities, improving access to medical care and valuing professionals in the sector. Ant³nio Soliya Selende highlighted the importance of education in rural areas, with improved teaching conditions and support for local schools. The politician mentioned the need to create youth employment opportunities and encourage income-generating initiatives in the communities.
