Kossi: The provincial director in charge of Basic Education, Inspector Adama Dao, conducted a field visit in the Basic Education District of Djibasso from May 6 to 7, 2025, to understand the challenges faced by teachers in fulfilling their duties.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Inspector Adama Dao identified several issues during his visit, including the lack of a water fountain, the absence of a vegetable garden due to insufficient resources and training, and operational difficulties in the preschool education and development center. In response, he offered advice aimed at fostering better collaboration among stakeholders.
The visit concluded with a general meeting held in the town hall meeting room, where Dao expressed his satisfaction with the teachers’ resilience, describing them as Volunteer Development Partners (VDPs) in education. Despite this, teachers voiced concerns about the slow processing of compensation payments, a recurring issue in the district.
Inspector Dao highlighted the neces
sity of effective communication within the educational sector and stressed the importance of adhering to hierarchical protocols for school principals. He also addressed concerns about professional secrecy, expressing disappointment over teachers’ use of social media to discuss minor issues.
The meeting witnessed the participation of the ICT manager of the provincial directorate, Samuel Ouermi, and the heads of the Basic Education Districts of Djibasso and Madouba. The discussions concluded on a hopeful note, with the regional directorate announcing that compensation corrections are scheduled for the end of May.
